What is the history of Educandos?
Educandos took the name Constantinópolis by Decree number 67 of 22 July 1907, a renaming proposed by the interim Superintendent, Colonel José Monteiro Tapajós, in honour of Constantino Nery, governor of the state from July 1900 to July 1907. Others came first. Professor Mário Ipyranga Monteiro traced the name Educandos to the old casa de Educandos that stood there.
Fire ran through the bairro on 17 December 2018, starting among wooden houses between the ruas Inácio Guimarães and Nova and reaching about six hundred homes.
