Amaralina was the Fazenda Alagoas, named for a lagoon that stood there. It became the Fazenda do Amaral after José Álvares do Amaral bought it, and his son renamed the property Fazenda Amaralina. The Americans put an aeronautical post on the ground during the Second World War, and it passed to the Força Aérea Brasileira when the war ended.
