What is the history of Forest Hill?
The village came late. Landowners incorporated Forest Hill as a village in 1923, keeping it a self-governing enclave with its own tree-planting bylaws before Toronto absorbed it decades later. Casa Loma had already risen on the slope by then, and grand estates such as Ardwold shaped the wooded ridge.
Timothy Eaton Memorial Church drew the merchant families who built the district's early streets.
