Bosa keeps very little lodging of its own. Bosa is a residential locality, so most visitors stay closer to central Bogotá and come out by TransMilenio, stepping off at Portal del Sur or Portal de Las Américas at the district's edge. The neighbourhoods of La Libertad and Palestina sit within a short ride of both terminals, and simple guesthouses cluster along the arterial roads that thread toward the San Bernardino church.

What are the main landmarks in Bosa?
The San Bernardino church anchors the old quarter. Its construction began in 1618, and Colombia later declared the whitewashed colonial building a National Monument, making it the oldest landmark that Bosa keeps. Around it the vereda of San Bernardino is still tended by Muisca descendants who trace the district back to a pre-Columbian village.
The Tunjuelo River draws the northern boundary. Green corridors follow its banks.
What is the history of Bosa?
Bosa began as a Muisca village. In the Muysccubun tongue its name meant an enclosure of the one that guards and defends the cornfields, and the settlement stood under its own caciques long before Spanish arrival. Construction of the San Bernardino church began in 1618, marking the colonial reworking of the old fields.
Under the 1991 constitution that made Bogotá a Capital District, Bosa was folded in as the seventh locality.
Where is Bosa?
Bosa spreads across the flat southwest corner of Bogotá, hemmed by the Tunjuelo River to the north and east and by the Bogotá River to the west, where the city gives way to Soacha and Mosquera. Kennedy lies across the Tunjuelo. Ciudad Bolívar climbs the slopes to the south.
