The palace end is the reason most visitors come to Herrenhausen. Beds within reach of the Galeriegebäude Herrenhausen and the Herrenhäuser Church put the district's set pieces on the doorstep, and leave the rest of Hannover to be travelled to. The Burg Limmer side is plainer.
Take it if you want a residential street rather than a monument outside the window.

What are the main landmarks in Herrenhausen?
The palace sets the tone. A museum occupies the Herrenhausen Palace, and the Galeriegebäude Herrenhausen stands close by as the second of the district's grand buildings, both of them working at a scale the surrounding streets do not. The Herrenhäuser Church answers them in stone.
Further out, the Zachäus-Kirche, the Sackmann memorial, and the Rosebusch Verlassenschaften fill in a smaller register, while Burg Limmer keeps a castle name in the district's record.
What is the history of Herrenhausen?
Herrenhausen's beginnings went unwritten. What Herrenhausen has instead is a palace name carried by a whole district, and a church record that runs from the Herrenhäuser Church through the dedications on the streets around it. Two parishes carry saints' names, St. Adalbert among them.
The St.-Nikolai-Kirche completes that group, and the Sackmann memorial adds a name of a different kind to the district's list.
