The Pfaffenteich is the eastern edge. Paulsstadt runs between the Obotritenring, the Alexandrinenstraße, the Arsenalstraße and the railway, west of the Schweriner Altstadt, and it borders the pond on that side. Four Stadtteile ring it.
Lewenberg lies north, Schelfstadt east, Feldstadt south and the Weststadt west. The old town is a short walk east.

About Paulsstadt
What are the main landmarks in Paulsstadt?
The classical street fronts are the fabric. Building along the Wismarsche Straße and the Arsenalstraße began in 1839 with houses in the classicist style, which is what the quarter still looks like. A dam made the ground usable.
One was raised along the south and west banks of the Pfaffenteich in 1838 and 1839 and the Alexandrinenstraße was filled and paved at the same time. A court architect drew the plan. Georg Demmler produced the study that took the city westward.
What is the history of Paulsstadt?
A grand duke moved his court and the city followed. Paul Friedrich transferred the ducal court from Ludwigslust to Schwerin on his accession in 1837 and formed a commission to plan the necessary extension of the city south and west. Georg Demmler drew it.
The state architect submitted a study proposing westward expansion, and building the Paulsstadt began from that. It carries his name. The quarter is named for Paul Friedrich as the ruling prince who brought the court back.
Engineering came first. A dam was raised along the south and west banks of the Pfaffenteich in 1838 and 1839 and the Alexandrinenstraße was filled and paved. Houses followed in 1839.
Classicist residential building went up along the Wismarsche Straße and the Arsenalstraße from that year, which is the fabric the Stadtteil still has.

Paulsstadt covers ninety-six hectares west of the Schweriner Altstadt between the Obotritenring, the Alexandrinenstraße, the Arsenalstraße and the railway, bordering the Pfaffenteich on the east.
