Miralbueno is a district people live in rather than a visitor quarter, so a bed here means an apartment or a small hotel on residential streets instead of a room stacked behind an attraction. Arriving by car you get space and parking at the western edge of Zaragoza, with Camino del Pilón running through the district as its spine and the Centro Cívico, the branch library and the health centre all inside the district. Zaragoza-Delicias station sits 2.5 km east.
High-speed trains leave it for Madrid and Barcelona, and the old centre is a short ride further on, so sightseeing is a journey out rather than a walk from the door.

What are the main landmarks in Miralbueno?
Camino del Pilón 139 holds the parish. The parish church of San Lamberto stands at that address, dedicated to Lambert of Zaragoza, the martyr Aragonese farmers keep as their patron, and about 150 metres east of it stands the Ermita de Miralbueno, a small hermitage chapel. Two municipal sites complete the short list: the Biblioteca Soledad Puértolas, the municipal branch library named for the Zaragoza-born novelist, sits in the district's Centro Cívico, and the Campo Municipal de Béisbol de Miralbueno, on paseo de Lagos de Alba, took fixtures of the European under-18 women's softball championship between 21 and 25 July 2025.

What is the history of Miralbueno?
San Lamberto's barracks emptied in 1992. The Ministry of Defence gave up the Cuartel de San Lamberto that year, the ministry and the Ayuntamiento signed a convenio over the site in 2001, and the land went to auction in 2002 and 2003 for flats and public buildings. The flats that followed changed the character of the place, and in 2006 the reorganisation of the juntas municipales gave Miralbueno a junta of its own.
That ground carries a second memory as well, one dated to 2003. Zaragoza named seven streets across it for the city's servicemen killed in the Yak-42 crash near Trabzon on 26 May 2003, the worst peacetime loss in the history of the Spanish forces. One of the seven is Sergio López Saz, and it was his street that Jorge Azcón, then mayor, extended on 21 October 2022 to join Miralbueno to the neighbouring barrio of Oliver.
Where is Miralbueno?
Miralbueno occupies 8.22 square kilometres on the western flank of Zaragoza, wide ground for a city district. Venta del Olivar closes the north. La Almozara and Oliver-Valdefierro press in from the east and Casablanca from the south, but the western boundary gives on to Garrapinillos, and both Garrapinillos and Venta del Olivar are barrios rurales rather than urban districts. That is what puts Miralbueno on the seam between the built city and open country.
