What are the main landmarks in Montilivi?
Montilivi keeps three institutions that carry its name. Montilivi Stadium, the ground of Girona FC, stands at Avinguda de Montilivi 141, with Institut Montilivi at number 125 on the same avenue. The third is the Universitat de Girona's Montilivi campus, spread across the hillside, gathering the Escola Politècnica Superior, the Facultat de Ciències, and the Facultat de Dret around a library that serves the whole university.
What is the history of Montilivi?
Montilivi is registered as an entitat de població of Girona and as one of four sectors in the barri of Sud, alongside Palau, l'Avellaneda, and la Creueta. Montilivi Stadium opened on 14 August 1970. The Universitat de Girona took its present form in 1991, gathered out of teaching centres whose line runs back to the Estudi General that Alfons el Magnànim granted the city in 1446.
