What is the history of Sant Daniel?
Sant Daniel was a municipality in its own right until 1963, when it was joined to Girona and the valley became a neighbourhood inside the city rather than a village beside it. The monastery predates that change. Romanesque work at the Monastery of Sant Daniel had anchored the valley for centuries before any boundary in Girona was redrawn around it.
