Bidebieta sits to the left of the road running from Donostia out to Pasaia and Irún, which makes it a practical edge of San Sebastián rather than a base in the centre. The Alto de Miracruz separates it from Herrera to the southwest, and calle Azkuene marks the line with Trintxerpe. Ulía adjoins at the caserío Mendiola.

What is the history of Bidebieta?
The barrio opened in the 1960s under the name La Paz, marking the first twenty-five years of the armistice in Spain. Francisco Franco inaugurated it in person, standing at the foot of what is now number 29 of the Paseo de Serapio Múgica with the notables of the day. Bidebieta is the later name.
