About Kasperi

What are the main landmarks in Kasperi?

Look downtown for the sights. Kasperi is residential, a cluster of streets on the north-western plain, while the named landmarks line up in central Seinäjoki to the south-east. The Lakeuden risti towers over the centre, the Etelä-Pohjanmaan museo gathers the regional collection, and the Törnävän kirkko keeps watch by the river.

Kasperi puts a calm plain-side base within easy reach of them.

What is the history of Kasperi?

Plain and field stood here once. After Seinäjoki was chartered in the 19th century and grew into the seat of South Ostrobothnia, its housing pressed north-west across the flats, and Kasperi rose as one of the residential districts that filled the land out toward Jouppi and Hyllykallio. The fields became blocks of homes.

Kasperi took its place among the city's outer neighbourhoods.

Where is Kasperi?

Kasperi spreads across north-western Seinäjoki. The district rests on the flat Ostrobothnian plain of western Finland, set back from the centre, flanked by the Jouppi district on one side and the Hyllykallio district toward the north, where the city gives way to farmland.
