About Pajuluoma

What are the main landmarks in Pajuluoma?

Sights belong to the centre, not here. Pajuluoma is a residential stretch on the western plain, and the named places gather in central Seinäjoki to the east. The Lakeuden risti lifts its tower above the city, the Etelä-Pohjanmaan museo holds the regional collection, and the Seinäjoen taidehalli shows its art close by.

Pajuluoma keeps you on the quiet plain a short way out from them.

What is the history of Pajuluoma?

Farm fields lay here first. Seinäjoki rose from a railway junction into the seat of South Ostrobothnia, and as the city widened its streets reached west across the flats until Pajuluoma formed as one more residential district on that side. The plain gradually gave up its fields.

Pajuluoma settled into the outer band of neighbourhoods around Seinäjoki.

Where is Pajuluoma?

Pajuluoma sits on the western flank of Seinäjoki. The district runs out across the level Ostrobothnian plain of western Finland, away from the centre, with the Jouppi district to its north and the wide farmland of South Ostrobothnia opening beyond the last streets of the city.
