What are the main landmarks in Nanded City?

The township was laid out in one go across the farmland of Nanded village, and it reads as one designed object of internal roads, gated entries and plotted blocks rather than a quarter that accumulated. Seven hundred acres, one design. No temple, fort or museum has been recorded inside the compound walls of Nanded City.

Pune keeps that trade to the north-east, and anyone here for forts or temples drives in to find them. What Nanded City puts in front of a visitor instead is the scale of a single build, with Dhayari edging the ground to the east and Warje to the north.

What is the history of Nanded City?

Nanded City borrowed a name that was already in use. Nanded village sat on the south-western fringe of Pune, and its farmland is the ground the gated blocks of Nanded City stand on. No charter year is recorded for the township, and what the record keeps instead is a transfer of use: cropland under one name, a planned community under a longer version of the same name.

The fields went under the plan. Warje, Dhayari and Vadgaon Budruk hold the same edge of the city, and the difference at Nanded City is that its name outlived the fields it was taken from.
