Ōmiya stands closest of all, barely a street from Shirogane, and Takasago follows within the same few minutes on foot, which makes the district feel less like a base of its own than like one block of a larger neighbourhood. Hiraokamachi lies about as far as Yakuin. Watanabe-dōri is closer. You get short distances rather than a famous address, with Kiyokawa, Haruyoshi and Imaizumi each an easy walk away.

Yakuin, Imaizumi and Haruyoshi extend that reach a little further.
What is the history of Shirogane?
Shirogane is a residential quarter of about 21 hectares, 1.7 kilometres south-south-east of Tenjin; the city plan counts it within Fukuoka's central core, just south of the Tenjin and Watanabe-dōri district. Fukuoka holds it. Above the city sit Fukuoka Prefecture and Japan, and at the same level as Shirogane sit Ōmiya, Takasago and Kiyokawa, each a district set down the same way.
