Beds here skew toward business travel: chain towers and serviced apartments built for conference weeks and quick transit, rather than a canal-side base. Evenings run quiet once the offices empty. The trade-off is space, calm, and a fast run north into the centre, so a visitor who prizes a modern room over old-city atmosphere can do well.
For museums and nightlife you sit better a short way north, near the Museum Quarter, Vondelpark, and the bars of De Pijp. Staying closer to central Amsterdam keeps those sights within walking reach.

The Zuidas itself keeps few classic sights. Its landmarks belong to the older streets just north. Around Museumplein stand the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, and the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, joined nearby by the Moco Museum and the Diamond Museum Amsterdam.
Along the edge of Vondelpark you find the Vondelkerk and the Vondelparkpaviljoen, while southeast in De Pijp the Heineken Experience fills a former brewery. Closest to the offices is Sporthallen Zuid, a sports hall on the district's southern side.
What is the history of Zuidas?
The Zuidas grew up as Amsterdam pushed south past its historic core, filling the open ground along the southern arc of the A10 ring road. The old city favoured canals; this quarter went vertical. Offices and apartments rose fast.
The Financial Mile name stuck. Its position between the Amstel and the Schinkel set the district at a natural transport crossing on the city's edge, while the older cultural core, the Museum Quarter around Museumplein, had taken shape well to the north long before these towers appeared.
Where is Zuidas?
The district occupies the southern band of Amsterdam's Zuid borough, where the A10 ring road cuts an east-west line across the city. Water frames both flanks: the Amstel closes it off to the east, the Schinkel to the west. North of the ring road the blocks give way to the older streets of Oud-Zuid, and beyond them lie Vondelpark and the Museum Quarter.
To the northeast sits De Pijp.
