Holland Village, Singapore — Area Guide & Where to Stay

Holland Village, often shortened to Holland V, sits on the boundary between the Bukit Timah and Queenstown planning areas in Singapore.

About Holland Village

Where to stay in Holland Village

Each area has its own feel; here's who each one suits.

Beds cluster near the station. Holland Village MRT station puts the whole neighbourhood inside a short walk, and staying within that radius removes any need to cross into either Bukit Timah or Queenstown to reach a train. The alternatives are the two neighbours.

Bukit Timah offers the scale of a full planning area, while Queenstown holds the other flank, and both are ordinary Central Region addresses rather than the compact pocket Holland V has made of its boundary strip.

About Holland Village

What are the main landmarks in Holland Village?

Holland Village MRT station is the marker. Opening in 2011, it gave the neighbourhood a stop carrying its own name, and that single piece of infrastructure fixed Holland V on the network map for good. Bukit Timah lies to one side.

Queenstown lies to the other, and both are larger administrative units than the neighbourhood wedged along their shared edge.

What is the history of Holland Village?

Boundaries came first. The boundary between the Bukit Timah and Queenstown planning areas was drawn across this ground, so Holland Village has long been described in relation to two neighbours rather than as a unit of its own. Then came the station.

Holland Village MRT station opened in 2011, and the neighbourhood gained a named stop on the Singapore network along with a fixed centre its boundary position had never supplied.

Where is Holland Village?

Two planning areas meet on this ground: Bukit Timah on one flank, Queenstown on the other, with the whole pocket falling inside the Central Region.
