What is Estado Aragua known for?

The capital has held that role since 1917, and Aragua has existed in roughly its present form since 1899, so the state and its seat were fixed within a single generation. Neighbours crowd it on three sides. Miranda and La Guaira lie to the east, Guárico to the south and Carabobo to the west, with the Caribbean Sea closing the north.

Where is Estado Aragua?

Everything from the Caribbean Sea shore to the Guárico boundary belongs to that one description, and the state occupies a compact stretch of it.

What is Estado Aragua like?

Maracay has shaped the state for over a century. The capital took the seat in 1917, eighteen years after Aragua settled into roughly its present form, and a single city holding that position for so long concentrates the institutional life of the whole state in one place.
