What is the history of Jedlesee?
Beethoven knew this ground. Countess Anna Maria Erdődy kept her estate at Jedlesee, and the composer stayed with her there on many occasions between 1805 and 1818, long before the suburb was drawn into the city. The village governed itself until 1894.
It then joined Leopoldau, Donaufeld, Floridsdorf and Neu Jedlesdorf in the greater Floridsdorf municipality, which became part of Vienna in 1904.
