What is the history of Buxton?
Buxton takes its name from Noel and Charles Buxton, British public figures who defended the Bulgarian cause through the Balkan, Inter-Allied and First World wars. The neighbourhood later grew together with the adjoining Pavlovo quarter. Streets climb toward Vitosha.
Its shape followed Tsar Boris III Boulevard as that corridor carried traffic between the centre and the mountain foothills.
