What is the history of Fakulteta?
Fakulteta grew as one of the western quarters of Sofia. The neighbourhood filled out as the Bulgarian capital pushed away from its old core toward the plain, its streets laid across the ground west of the centre and its parish life gathered around the Sts. Peter and Paul Church.
It came up on the margins. In time Sofia spread out west across the plain to reach it.

Fakulteta sits on the western side of Sofia. The neighbourhood occupies a flat tract of housing set back from the city centre, out toward the western margin of the Bulgarian capital, with the Slavia Ice Centre nearby and the rest of Sofia spreading east across the plain toward the hills. The ground lies low and level.
