Beds here sit inside Downtown Vancouver, so the choice is really about which end of the district a room faces. Rooms toward Homer Street and Robson Street put the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Vancouver Lookout and the Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art within an ordinary walk, while rooms turned toward False Creek trade that for the water and the short way round to Science World. Either way the walk is short.
Warehouses and rail yards filled these blocks before the 1986 World's Fair, and that industrial grid still sets the shape of the streets a guest walks between hotel and water.

What are the main landmarks in Yaletown?
There is a great deal packed in here. Science World, the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art, the Chinese Canadian Museum, the British Columbia Sports Hall of Fame and the Pacific Cinémathèque all fall within walking reach of Homer Street. Older fabric survives between the towers.
Beatty Street Drill Hall and Roedde House Museum hold the pre-war city, the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary and Coastal Church keep their congregations, and the Vancouver Lookout supplies the high view over Downtown Vancouver.
What is the history of Yaletown?
Rail yards came first. Warehouses and heavy industry filled the ground between False Creek and Homer Street long before anyone thought of living there, and the tracks set the block pattern that survives. The 1986 World's Fair changed the use of the land.
What followed was a rebuilding into one of the denser quarters of Vancouver, apartments and hotels standing across Yaletown where freight once moved.

False Creek marks the edge. Yaletown fills the corner of Downtown Vancouver that runs back from that water to Robson and Homer Streets.
