Not every neighbourhood fits every trip — here's what each one is good for.
Riversdale and Nutana sit on opposite banks. The Core Neighbourhoods Sector covers both of them and the water between, so a bed inside it puts Remai Modern, the Saskatoon Cenotaph and Knox United Church within one walk of the South Saskatchewan River. Rooms are a Saskatoon booking.
The sector holds the landmarks and the old town sites, while the desks that take a reservation are listed under the city rather than under Core Neighbourhoods.

What are the main landmarks in Core Neighbourhoods?
Fourteen entries carry the sector. Houses come first, with the Marr Residence, Gustin House, the Sommerville/Petitt House and the Landa Residence all listed inside the Core Neighbourhoods Sector, which gives the record a domestic weight that a downtown list rarely has. Remai Modern anchors the other end.
Knox United Church and the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity share the sector with the Musée Ukraina Museum, the Saskatoon Cenotaph, the Pioneer Memorial Cairn, the Saskatchewan MADD Monument and the Canada Games clock tower & square.
What is the history of Core Neighbourhoods?
Nutana, West Saskatoon and Riversdale were three separate towns. They came together in 1906 to form the city of Saskatoon, and the ground they met on is what the Core Neighbourhoods Sector covers, which makes this the oldest layer of the city rather than a suburb of it. The sector kept an older name too.
It ran as the Core Neighbourhoods Suburban Development Area before the shorter title took over, a bureaucratic label for districts that were already standing when Saskatoon was formed.
Where is Core Neighbourhoods?
The South Saskatchewan River splits it. Core Neighbourhoods lies south of the Lawson Sector and the University Sector, east of Confederation Sector.
