Heven is a Stadtteil of Witten in the Ruhrgebiet, made up of Papenholz, Hellweg, Wannen, Heven-Dorf and Lake. It is Witten's fourth largest.

Where visitors usually base themselves, and why.
Heven has no railway station, but tram lines 309 and 310 and the Bogestra buses SB 67, 320, 374, 375 and 376 tie it to central Witten and on to Bochum, Sprockhövel and Wuppertal. The Hevener bank of the Kemnader Stausee, called Heveney, draws walkers and cyclists. The Freizeitbad Heveney and a sailing school stand on that side.

What are the main landmarks in Heven?
The Evangelische Kirche Heven and the Auferstehungskirche are the churches. The Hebezeug-Museum keeps the lifting gear, and the LWL Industry Museum at the Nachtigall mine stands within reach. From the Heven-Dorf stop you can begin the longest tram journey in Germany, running to St. Tönis near Krefeld over a hundred and two kilometres and seven changes.
What is the history of Heven?
Heven appears as Hevinne in the Werdener Urbar around 880, though it is not certain whether that means this Heven or the Haus Heven a few kilometres away in Bochum-Querenburg. The first sure mention is in the year 1000. It did not grow around one farm or a single village core: several small settlement cores merged over time, with Heven-Dorf as the nucleus.
The Dönhof in Heven is where a later line began.
Where is Heven?
Heven lies on the Kemnader Stausee. Herbede borders the lake on the Witten side too, and Querenburg on the Bochum side, with the Hevener shore called Heveney between them. Papenholz, Hellweg, Wannen, Heven-Dorf and Lake make up the Stadtteil.
