It sits among three hills. The Volkspark area is made of three heights: the Mürwiker Wasserturm stands on ground of about forty-seven metres to the south, on the rise apparently called Ballastberg, the Flensburger Stadion beside Blasberg sits at about thirty-nine metres, and the Finisberg lies further northeast beyond the Wolfsschlucht. Viewpoints look down to the fjord.
They are found at the different heights of the Stadtbezirk, and the Flensburger Förde is visible from them. Fruerlund is the Stadtteil it belongs to.

What are the main landmarks in Blasberg?
Seven houses survive from the 19th century. Blasberg 1 to 7 still stand, and Blasberg 1, once numbered 15, is a rendered single-storey eaves house with a saddle roof whose wall gable above the entrance still carries the inscription AD 1848. Its neighbour has a builder's name.
Blasberg 3, formerly Blasberg 17, was put up in 1893 by the master mason Hans Sörensen and held a large taproom at the end of the 19th century. The old street ran to the fjord. Blasberg's original road led to nearby Kielseng on the Förde.
What is the history of Blasberg?
When it began is not clear. The individual small cottage villages of Flensburg are mostly attested only from the 17th and 18th centuries in writing, and Blasberg is first mentioned in 1759, probably laid out from Jürgensgaard. Ten cottages stood there around 1825.
Half of them were under the Amt Flensburg and the rest belonged to the hospital or the monastery, and the settlement apparently fell in the Adelby parish although its people looked more toward the town. Farming was never the point. From about 1840 it is recorded that the lands of the Blasberg were barely worked agriculturally.
Houses came in the 19th century. Blasberg 1 to 7 survive from then, one of them carrying the inscription AD 1848 and another built in 1893 by the master mason Hans Sörensen. Flensburg took it in early last century.
The street settlement now forms the Blasberg Stadtbezirk of the Fruerlund Stadtteil together with the Volkspark, the building east of it as far as the Mürwiker Straße, and the small Kielseng area.
