What is the history of Twedt?
The name Twedt marks a place near woodland, and others of the same name stand at Tolk in Südangeln, in the Tønder Sogn Landkirchspiel and at Dalby south of Kolding. The village belonged to the Kirchspiel Adelby, in the west of the Husbyharde in the Amt Flensburg. Flensburg took the Landgemeinde in on 1 May 1910.
It should not be confused with the Gemeinde Twedt in the south of Kreis Schleswig-Flensburg.
Where is Twedt?
Twedt lies about four kilometres east of the Flensburg Altstadt, inside the Stadtteil Engelsby, which absorbed it. Woods lie close on either side.
