What is the history of Ciudad Jardín?
Ciudad Jardín has been tied to Prosperidad since the suburb's origins in 1862, and from 1898 it formed part of the Prosperidad barrio of the Buenavista district. In 1955 the city absorbed the town of Chamartín de la Rosa as a new district, taking in Prosperidad. The split came in 1987.
A municipal decree divided Prosperidad along the calle de López de Hoyos, leaving the Plaza de Prosperidad in Ciudad Jardín.
Where is Ciudad Jardín?
It lies between the calle de Príncipe de Vergara, the avenida de Ramón y Cajal and the calle de López de Hoyos, one of the longest streets in the city and known for its shops, and it borders the Salamanca district. Ciudad Jardín covers about 0.76 km².
