What are the main landmarks in Poble Nou?
Fish, rail and bathing built this. The Llotja de Peix del Cabanyal and the Market Hall of El Cabanyal sit among the streets, with Balneari de les Arenes, Piscinas de las Arenas and Termas Victoria carrying the seafront's older names. Rail left its own marks.
El Cabanyal old railway station, El Grao Trenet Station and the Railway stop of Las Arenas survive as buildings. The Church of Our Lady of the Rosary and the Museu de la Setmana Santa Marinera stand within the Cabanyal-Canyamelar Historical Area.
What is the history of Poble Nou?
Industry printed itself on these blocks. Serra's rice mill and the Velgor Glassworks stand among the houses, and listed industrial buildings on Mariano Cuber, Vicente Gallart and Francisco Baldomá streets record the work that once filled them. Protection came to the whole fabric.
The Cabanyal-Canyamelar Historical Area covers the older streets of El Cabanyal, and the Ceramic Panel of the Trinity on Lluís Despuig street is one of the smaller pieces inside it. The quarter still counts as part of the sea village of Valencia.
