Where to stay in Vara de Quart

The practical side of choosing where to sleep.

Of the barrios on this side of Valencia, Vara de Quart is the one with its own transport, and the Estación de Vara de Quart inside it makes the barrio a practical base for the whole south-western quarter of the city. Ciudad Gran Turia provides much of the housing here. West of it the municipality of Chirivella begins, so this is the point at which Valencia stops.

About Vara de Quart

What are the main landmarks in Vara de Quart?

Two things mark the barrio out from its neighbours. The Estación de Vara de Quart gives it a rail connection the surrounding barrios lack, and Ciudad Gran Turia is a housing development large enough to be a place in its own right. Beyond those the ground is ordinary. Faitanar lies west towards the Chirivella boundary.

What is the history of Vara de Quart?

Vara de Quart grew on the huerta south-west of Valencia as the city expanded in that direction, and the station and the Ciudad Gran Turia estate belong to that expansion rather than to anything older. The barrio now marks the city's edge. Chirivella beyond it is a separate municipality, not a district of Valencia.

Where is Vara de Quart?

Vara de Quart occupies the south-western corner of the Patraix district of Valencia. La Fuensanta and Tres Forques adjoin it north, Patraix and Safranar east, San Isidro south, and Faitanar west, with the municipal boundary of Chirivella beyond that. It is the last Valencian barrio on this road out.
