Where to stay in Tres Forques
Where the beds are, and what that means for the visit.
This is a plain residential barrio west of the centre, and the calle de Tres Forques runs through the middle of it. Nou Moles lies north. Patraix is east and La Fuensanta south, with Vara de Quart on the western side, so the barrio is entirely enclosed by other parts of the city rather than by open ground.
About Tres Forques
What are the main landmarks in Tres Forques?
The calle de Tres Forques is the barrio's spine, and it follows the line of the old Valencia to Utiel railway that ran across this ground when there was nothing else here. That is the whole of the built record. What preceded it was huerta, the market gardens that fed the city from every side.
What is the history of Tres Forques?
In its day this was huerta and nothing else, and the only feature crossing it was the old Valencia to Utiel line, which ran where the calle de Tres Forques runs now. The city came later. The barrio that grew here took its name from that street and sits in the Olivereta district, with Nou Moles and La Fuensanta on either side of it.
Where is Tres Forques?
Tres Forques lies west of the centre of Valencia within the Olivereta district, enclosed on all four sides by other barrios: Nou Moles north, Patraix east, La Fuensanta south, and Vara de Quart west. The ground is flat former huerta. Its shape follows streets, not landscape.
