Lee Bank is an inner-city district of Birmingham, immediately south-west of the centre and pressed against Edgbaston. It is mostly residential. Much of the neighbourhood was rebuilt in the early 2000s as the Park Central housing scheme, on the footprint of a cleared post-war estate. The Lee Bank Middleway ring road runs along its northern edge.

Lee Bank carries few hotels of its own; it is a district of flats and family houses rather than tourist beds. Visitors who base themselves here trade nightlife for quiet, with Park Central's greens and low-rise blocks setting the tone. The trade-off is position. Birmingham city centre, the Bullring markets around St Martin in the Bull Ring, and the Broad Street bars all sit within a fifteen-minute walk of the district.
For a wider choice of rooms, the hotels of the centre and neighbouring Edgbaston are the obvious fallback.

What are the main landmarks in Lee Bank?
Lee Bank's own landmark is St. Thomas' Church on Bath Row, a bombed Georgian shell kept as a memorial garden. Everything else lies a short walk away. North, in the city centre, stand Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, the market church of St Martin in the Bull Ring, and the Birmingham Back to Backs, the National Trust's row of restored courtyard houses.
South, in neighbouring Edgbaston, are the Barber Institute of Fine Arts and the Church of SS Mary and Ambrose, Edgbaston.
What is the history of Lee Bank?
For much of the Victorian era Lee Bank was packed with back-to-back and terraced housing, built for workers of the industrial city around it. After the Second World War the council named it one of Birmingham's central redevelopment areas. The old streets came down.
Slum clearance through the 1960s replaced them with tower blocks and maisonettes, which in turn aged badly. A second rebuild in the early 2000s swept most of that estate away and laid out the Park Central scheme in its place.
Where is Lee Bank?
Lee Bank sits just south-west of Birmingham city centre, wedged against Edgbaston. The Lee Bank Middleway, part of the ring road that loops the core, forms its northern edge and carries the through-traffic. Bath Row runs along the top.
The Five Ways junction sits off the western corner, with Broad Street beyond.
