Stockland Green grew up as a residential suburb on the northern side of Birmingham, on land that once lay between the old manor of Aston and the village of Erdington. Its recorded history is short. As the city spread outward, the fields here were laid out with terraced and inter-war housing, and the parish church of St Mark's Church, Stockland Green served the streets that filled in.
