A Kung Kok holds no hotel quarter of its own. Travellers base themselves in Sha Tin New Town or in Ma On Shan New Town and pass through on the corridor that A Kung Kok has always carried between the two. Neither base is far.
Rooms toward Sha Tin put the Shing Mun River waterfront within reach, while a base near Tai Shui Hang leaves Heng On Sports Centre and the northern estates a short walk off.

What are the main landmarks in A Kung Kok?
Heng On Sports Centre is the one landmark A Kung Kok can claim outright. It sits at the northern end, nearer Tai Shui Hang than Sha Tin town centre, which marks how far up the valley the neighbourhood reaches before Ma On Shan New Town takes over. Everything else is river and slope.
The Shing Mun River closes the western side, and the through road between Sha Tin New Town and Ma On Shan New Town runs the length of the neighbourhood.
What is the history of A Kung Kok?
Sha Tin New Town grew up the Shing Mun River valley and reached its northern limit at A Kung Kok. Ma On Shan New Town filled the ground beyond Tai Shui Hang, and the strip in between became the only practical line of travel from one to the other. That role stuck.
Within Sha Tin District, A Kung Kok reads less as a destination than as the ground both new towns had to build across.
