Kong Ha Wai is a single Hakka mansion and its grounds, not a quarter with rooms to let. The mansion takes no guests. Anyone coming out to Pat Heung books in Yuen Long or in the denser parts of Hong Kong, then travels the last stretch east from Kam Sheung Road to reach Ng Ka Tsuen and the house itself.

The mansion is the landmark. Kong Ha Wai was built between 1933 and 1936 as a Hakka great house at Ng Ka Tsuen, and in 2012 it was graded a Grade III historic building, which is the whole of its claim on a visitor's morning. Nothing else here is listed.
Kam Tsin Wai stands to the east, Kam Sheung Road to the west, and neither adds a monument to the walk.
What is the history of Kong Ha Wai?
Building began in 1933. Three more years finished it, and the walls that stand at Ng Ka Tsuen were complete by 1936, a Hakka mansion raised in the Pat Heung countryside rather than in any of Hong Kong's built-up quarters. Recognition came much later.
In 2012 the Hong Kong grading placed it at Grade III, and that listing is the reason the house carries a name outside Yuen Long at all.
