What are the main landmarks in Lau Fau Shan?
The shore looks straight at Shenzhen. Deep Bay opens out in front of Lau Fau Shan, with Shekou on the far side of the water, and that outward view is the main reason to walk the waterfront here. Sport fills the rest.
Tin Shui Wai Sports Ground, Tin Shui Sports Centre and the Tin Yip Road Artificial Sand Court sit together in the neighbouring new town, a short ride inland from the bay.

Deep Bay is a border as well as a shoreline. Lau Fau Shan belongs to Yuen Long District, in the New Territories, the part of Hong Kong that came under the same administration later than the harbour districts and stayed rural for far longer. Ponds and open water lay behind it.
The building of Tin Shui Wai on the flats inland brought dense housing to within a few minutes of the water, while the shore kept its own name and its outlook toward Shekou.
