Most rooms sit north of So Kon Po, in the Causeway Bay blocks around Victoria Park, and the walk down into the quarter takes only a few minutes from there. The slope itself is residential. Caroline Hill and the lower reaches of Jardine's Lookout hold housing rather than hotels, so a stay on that side means a short uphill walk in exchange for quiet nights.

What is the history of So Kon Po?
So Kon Po and Sookunpo name the same ground, two romanisations of one local name that both stayed in use as Hong Kong grew around it. The setting explains the rest. Building here meant working between Caroline Hill and the rising ground of Jardine's Lookout, on land that never opened into the flat grid of Causeway Bay just north, so the quarter kept a smaller, quieter grain than the shopping streets over the boundary.
