Not every neighbourhood fits every trip — here's what each one is good for.
Anand Lok was laid out as house plots rather than as a place to book a room, and Jaipur keeps its hotels about 18 km east. Sushant City is four kilometres back. Kalwar Road runs in past Govindpura to Jhotwara, and from there the older streets around the City Palace hold the beds, the bazaars, and most of what brings anyone to Jaipur.
You would take a room out here only for a reason on this side of Jaipur, with a car, because every trip into the walled city runs back down that road.

Anand Lok takes its landmarks from a layout plan, not from the monument trail of Jaipur. Abhilasha Homes and Sweet Home I and II are the housing schemes the developer set inside the colony, and Anand Lok Extension repeats the same plot grid alongside it. Dhanakya railway station lies seven kilometres off.
It is the nearest stop on the Ahmedabad to Jaipur line, and the palaces and bazaars that fill a Jaipur itinerary are a drive east down Kalwar Road.
What is the history of Anand Lok?
Anand Lok belongs to the Kalwar Road building push of the 2000s rather than to the Jaipur of 1727. Ansal API opened it four kilometres past its own Sushant City township, marketing surveyed plots in sizes of 120 and 180 square yards to buyers who would raise their own houses. No inception year stands on the record.
By 2009 the developer was already describing the plots here as sold, which is as close to a founding date as this stretch of Kalwar Road has.

Anand Lok lies west of Jaipur on Kalwar Road, four kilometres past Sushant City and short of Kalwar village, with Sambhar Salt Lake far out west.
