Chauru has no hotels, and no traveller books a bed in a revenue block. Phagi, 13 km east, is the nearest town of any size, and the beds that serve this corner of Jaipur district sit up in Jaipur itself, roughly fifty kilometres north-east. State Highway 2 runs past to the north, carrying the road on from Phagi to Dudu.
Dudu lies 31 km west by road. You would sleep out here only to reach family in Ghatiyali or Mendwas, or to spend a morning at the land-records office, and every other errand means driving back towards the city.

Chauru's record is administrative rather than dynastic. The village became the head of an inspector land revenue circle, the revenue unit that groups a cluster of patwar circles under one inspector, and that office, rather than any ruler or fort, is what fixed its name on the maps of Phagi tehsil. Its district changed twice in two years. Rājasthān carved a new Dudu district out of Jaipur district in 2023, then wound that district up in 2024, and Phagi tehsil came back where it had started.
Chauru itself never moved, and its parliamentary constituency is Ajmer, not Jaipur.
