About Vomero
What are the main landmarks in Vomero?

A Roman bridge and a Colombarium survive on the hill from antiquity, evidence that people used this high ground long before the quarter above Naples took its present shape. Castel Sant'Elmo came with the fortifying centuries, and the Certosa di San Martino settled beside it as a monastic house.
The monastero di Maria Santissima Assunta belongs to the same religious line. Churches spread down toward Chiaia: San Nicola da Tolentino, Santa Maria della Pazienza, Santa Maria della Neve in San Giuseppe and San Giovanni Battista dei Fiorentini.
