What is the history of Armour Hills?
The Armour family owned this ground before anyone lived on it. Kansas City grew south, the pasture was surveyed into a grid, and the plat that resulted set out 1,062 residential lots against only eight commercial ones, a ratio that still explains why the streets run quiet. The family name stayed.
Brookside Road, 65th Street, Oak Street and Gregory Boulevard fixed the edges of what the surveyors had drawn, and Armour Hills has kept those limits since.
