Elmwood Avenue is the whole reason to stay here. The shops and the coffee run the length of it, Bidwell Parkway crosses on the diagonal between Colonial Circle and Soldiers Circle, and the walk north reaches Delaware Park and the Burchfield Penney Art Center without leaving the trees. Richmond Avenue closes the west.
Delaware Avenue closes the east.

What are the main landmarks in Elmwood Village?
Bidwell Parkway is the piece worth walking. Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux laid it out as part of their original parkway system, two hundred feet wide, running on the diagonal between Colonial Circle and Soldiers Circle, and it carries the farmers market on Saturday mornings from the middle of May into November. Eleven sites here are on the National Register.
St. Catherine's Court came in 1922.
What is the history of Elmwood Village?
Olmsted drew the frame. Bidwell Parkway belongs to the system he and Calvert Vaux laid over Buffalo, and it takes its name from Daniel Davidson Bidwell, a shipbuilding heir who organised militia. The houses filled in between the parkways afterwards.
St. Catherine's Court off Cleveland Avenue was among the first modern culs-de-sac in America, finished in 1922.
