Kensington's past is bound up with Flatbush. Prospect Park South and Ditmas Park, the two subsections along its eastern border, are themselves parts of Flatbush, which sets Kensington on the same stretch of Brooklyn ground as the older streets beside it. Parkville is treated with it as one district, the pair bordered together by Windsor Terrace, Borough Park and Midwood.
Green-Wood Cemetery closes the northern end, and the Living Torah Museum and the house at 143 Buckingham Road are what the neighbourhood has kept on the heritage list.
