Two of the three are racecourses. The third is St. John the Forerunner Orthodox Cathedral, which stands among the residential blocks as the one place of worship on a list otherwise given over to sport.

Racing gave the place its old names. The Sheepshead Bay Race Track and the Brighton Beach Race Course both survive on the record of this shore neighbourhood, which runs south from Kings Highway until the land gives out at the Atlantic Ocean. Roads mark the other edges.
