Avenida Cabildo is the axis that counts. It runs along one boundary of Colegiales, and a room near it puts both the length of the barrio and the crossing out into the rest of Buenos Aires within a few blocks, which the inner streets cannot match. Inside, the scale drops.
Between Crámer, Jorge Newbery and Virrey del Pino the blocks belong to a barrio of barely two square kilometres, so the list of beds is short and a good many visits end up booked beyond its boundary avenues.

What are the main landmarks in Colegiales?
Museums are the surprise. The National Museum of Man, the Simik Photographic Museum, the Geographical Museum Professor Miguel Ángel Fernández and the Museo Anconetani del Acordeón crowd into two square kilometres, and the Horse Grenadier Regiment Museum General San Martin adds a military collection to that already unlikely list. Monuments fill the gaps between them.
Homenaje al General Manuel Belgrano, Homenaje a José Hernández, Juan José Paso and a Statue of Liberty stand about the streets, with the Parroquia Inmaculada Concepción and the Belgrano Athletic Stadium closing the register. Little of it is obvious from Avenida Cabildo.
What is the history of Colegiales?
The record here is kept in monuments. Homenaje al General Manuel Belgrano and Homenaje a José Hernández stand in the streets of Colegiales, Juan José Paso is marked as well, and between them they hand the barrio a memory made of names rather than of surviving structures. One regiment has its own museum.
The Horse Grenadier Regiment Museum General San Martin holds that history inside the same small quarter, while the Parroquia Inmaculada Concepción carries the ecclesiastical side of it and General Manuel Belgrano turns up a second time in the register.
