Palermo Soho grew out of the old Palermo Viejo core. The quarter took shape as low houses and workshops filled the blocks of Palermo, later drawing design studios and galleries that gave the streets around the Basílica del Espíritu Santo their present cast within Buenos Aires. Immigrant congregations left their mark.
