Where to stay in Nanyang
Each area has its own feel; here's who each one suits.
Where you stay in Nanyang turns on the old city or the ridge. The streets around the old centre keep the museums, the guild hall, and the markets within a walk, and staying downtown suits anyone here for the Han sights. Old temples stand among the lanes.
Hotels cluster near the centre. Out toward the Wolonggang and the western hills, the city gives way to gardens and groves. A room by the ridge trades the old centre for the Zhuge Liang shrine, the pine slopes, and the quiet of the memorial park.
Cypresses shade the dragon ridge. Stay downtown for the museums, or by the ridge for the shrine. The dragon ridge is a short ride out.
