What is the history of Paris 10 Entrepôt?
Two pasts sit on top of each other. The 10th was a sleepy faubourg in the Paris of the eighteenth century and an industrial centre afterwards, and the Canal Saint Martin belongs to that working phase rather than to any grand plan for the city. The arrondissement dates from 1860.
Cafés and restaurants came to the canal banks much later, along with the cyclists and skaters who share the car-free hours.
