Two choices, sand or street. Rooms along the Bat Yam seafront put the beach and the promenade at the door, and they suit anyone using the city as a quieter base for Tel Aviv. The strip is short.
The city measures about eight square kilometres, so even an address a few streets back keeps the water within an easy walk. Inland, the character changes. Residential blocks run back toward Holon, where the Design Museum Holon, the Holon Mediatheque, and the Egged Museum give the inland side its own reason to stay, and parking is easier away from the shore. Jaffa lies the other way.
Andromeda Rock, the Ilana Goor Museum, and Saint Nicholas Monastery sit on that side of the run, near enough that a stay in Bat Yam covers them without a change of hotel. Gush Dan makes the calculation simple. Every part of the metropolitan area is inside reach from here, which is why the choice inside Bat Yam comes down to the sea view rather than to distance.
