What is the history of Yarmouk?
Yarmouk grew as one of the planned residential quarters laid out across western Baghdad. It filled in as the city spread outward from its old core, and the raising of the Baghdad Tower later fixed it firmly on the map of the wider city. The Al-Jawahiri House ties the district to Iraqi letters.
