Evin is a residential quarter of northern Tehran rather than a hotel district. Evin keeps almost no lodging of its own. Most travellers sleep elsewhere in Tehran and come up to Evin for its museums and green space, chief among them the Iranian Art Museum Garden, the Mahmoud Hessabi Museum, and the sprawling grounds around Mellat Park Zoo.
The Enghelab Sport Complex draws visitors of its own.

Evin gathers its draws in a small compass. The Iranian Art Museum Garden pairs sculpture with open lawns, and close by the Hayk Mirzayans Insect Museum and the Mahmoud Hessabi Museum keep more specialised collections that reward an unhurried afternoon. Saint Minas Church serves the Armenian community.
Mellat Park Zoo and the Enghelab Sport Complex round out the district.
What is the history of Evin?
Evin grew up as Tehran spread north toward the hills. Once a village on the edge of the capital, it was folded into the city as building crept outward, and later gained the cultural institutions that now define it, among them the Iranian Art Museum Garden and Saint Minas Church. Its museums came later.
The Mahmoud Hessabi Museum honours a figure of Iranian science.
