What are the main landmarks in Tehranpars?
The Iranian Museum of Graphic Design anchors the quarter, set inside the restored Arbab Hormoz Mansion, a late-Qajar house near the northern edge of Police Park. Its posters and type draw designers from across Tehran. Rashid Street and Farjam Street run as the grid's long axes, while the four falakeh squares mark where the numbered blocks meet.
The Tehranpars Metro Station closes the eastern end of the neighbourhood, and Lavizan Forest Park spreads its woodland just beyond. Old mansion meets ordered street.
What is the history of Tehranpars?
Tehranpars rose as a planned residential district on the eastern edge of Tehran, laid out on a numbered grid of straight avenues rather than the older organic lanes of the inner city. The grid filled in quickly. Squatted plots within the quarter were cleared on state order in 1977, as the grid filled toward Rashid Street and the falakeh squares.
The late-Qajar Arbab Hormoz Mansion, older than the surrounding blocks, survives from the estate era before the district was drawn.
